So after reading through an "Apocalypse Show-Off" thread on Dakka Dakka I have decided to try something new. I'm trying to paint something new but different every month.

First up, by month's end I need to finish my Flames of War US army of 1000 points.

I am married, own a house and work full time!

Ok so I'm basically a regular joe now, so no more excuses. I don't have a lot of 40k work recently, as my gaming group rediscovered Flames of War, so I dusted off my US tank army and got into the swing of things.

I'm building a US Mid-War Paratroopers army for an escalation league. I'll throw up WIP pics of my P40s when I get home, but for now, just be ready for content upcoming!

I'll link to the new blog our gaming group has when I do new FoW projects, but 40k stuff will be here first and foremost!

Warmachine Begins!

Ok so I have begun working on a Cygnar force for Warmachine...

I have no idea why I never have seen this game in a good way before...it looks amazing and the models are cool!

Job is crazy (2 jobs now, and possibilities on the horizon for more...) and love life (I have one again) is keeping me very busy.

However I am making progress on my Luna Wolves and hope to have a 1250 point army mostly ready for Corey's Tourney in mid November.

Also a surprise Super-Secret project is underway :)

Guard Has Me!

Ok so the Guard has me hooked on them again. I finished the previously mentioned stormtrooper unit, and immediately started on unit 2 of them, which is now 1/2 done (5 out of 10 models). I also painted one of 3 Commissars that are being attached to mobile infantry regiment for a small close combat kick :)

Finally, I would like to thank a new GW Redshirt as he hooked me up with the last 20 Stormtroopers I needed for my list (the old SWAT guys), Alex you good sir, do rokk!

Two words we are told not to use in English class, but right now they sum up my existence, lol.

I have done precious little hobby wise lately, and not much in any one thing. I have a new job, which I love. I just started seeing a new girl, which I hope may someday turn into something, and GW has decided to vomit forth a veritable wave of awesomeness with the new Imperial Guard stuff...

So yeah 'things and stuff'.

My armorcast Reaver is about 1/4 done, needs taping and airbrushing now. Only current project is a unit of 10 Stormtroopers.

Reaver is Assembled and Primed!!

And due to my computer and Vista being annoying I will put pics up tonight, not yesterday like I planned.

I also got the Warhound in, and holy hell, dos it look cool in the bag...

The weapons on it amaze me in their utter coolness. I am going to stick to the plan though. I will fully paint and base the reaver before work starts on the Warhound.

I think the Reaver looks pretty bad-ass sitting on my painting table right now in a rust red primer...very Mechanicus-y.

I'm hoping to debut the Reaver at Game Summit, for the bring-and-battle on Saturday night.

Titanic Post!

Well I got my titan in my hot little hands. Sadly it did not survive shipping very well, and arrived with many broken toes, ankles, and elbows.

That said after a night of pinning and gluing it is looking mighty fine...and freaking huge!

Pics to come, once I figure out where my cable is for my camera.

Ok I officially own a Titan now. An armorcast Reaver showed up to my house yesterday. I am tempted to dive right in, but I am going to hold off until the FW order comes in, as I would like to make use of my Brass Etched purchases to dress the titan up a little bit.

My plan, loose as it is now, is to do my Reaver first, then tackle the Warhound with some practice under my belt.

I am going to do the reaver up with its included weapons. When it is done, I will be custom building some new weapons for it, as I want it to have 8 Turbolasers when all is said and done. This thing is going to be a titan/stompa/superheavy killer.

I am still unsure whether to wait for the Shadowsword kit to come out for the turbolasers from it, or make my own out of plasticard?

Time will tell and I'll see where I am at in the build/paint process to make my decision, but I am leaning towards waiting until the Shadowsword comes out.

FW Order is Placed!

Yep the big order is out, and likely already shipped. Can't wait until next week!

I will do the armorcast reaver first, so I can get my feet wet before starting work on the FW Warhound.

This what I hope to achieve with the Armorcast titan...(credit to Bell of Lost Souls for the image). See right.

The warhound from FW is going to be a bit tougher and I am hearing all sorts of horror stories from people on Dakkadakka from people who have built them. But I am patient with my projects and plan to take my time on it, I'll throw some update as I work on it for sure.

Really!

Ok so I'll likely forget this and ignore the blog like every year, but I do have projects to work on :)

I have a new Armorcast Reaver Titan due in the mail in the next week, and a shiny new Warhound titan due in 3-4 weeks :)

The armourcast Reaver is the bigger of the two, but I imagine it will be much, much easier to assemble and paint than the warhound.

Law, WoW and...A Nob Biker?

Well its almost the holiday season (or is as argued by some) and everything is getting cold and covered in snow and ice...love living in the north, haha. Also Wrath may have something to do with it...

Yes WoW has latched onto me once more. This time about a week after WAR came out. WAR disappointed heavily. It was an MMO, but it wasn't fun...sadly its design had so much potential but came up seriously lacking :(

So I'm playing my mage who I levelled to 70 in preparation for Wrath and now she is sitting in a large crystalline structure in the middle of a frozen tundra looking to kill some ice elementals...right now being frost spec sucks, lol.

But with all the fun comes reality, which can be fun too...I guess...

I'm smack dab in the middle of my law course that i mentioned in the previous post and am doing well.

I also have a chance at a job with Canada Post within the next few weeks. All in all its looking ok right now :)

And the Nob Biker comment? Well thats a surprise but I'll post something within a week or so...

Ok NHL '09 is a blast, hard but still fun. Force Unleashed is blissful in its destructive ways :)

And tomorrow WAR comes out (though EB Games said today on the phone yesterday?) which will be a time sink for sure.

Ok so what is my new plan? An army by Christmas I say!

This isn't too much of a stretch and it will let me have another army to play games with, even if it is another MEQ.

So tonight I will try and do up a list with new codex, and take some pictures of what I will make it all out of. A good hint though, is to think 'retro' lol.

Dilemma

Ok so Force Unleashed is out tomorrow, with WAR coming out on Thursday, and I missed the NHL '09 launch last week, so I am behind on my mandatory game purchases.

See I haven't bought any new games for a console/PC in about 6 months. I picked up 2-3 DS games but nothing for my holy 3 (Xbox, PS3, PC, my Wii is in a shopping bag in my closet so doesn't count :) ) in the last long while.

I guess WoW has that effect on gamers...

Oh well, hopefully WAR is awesome and i can ignore WoW for the time being. If WAR sucks, then I'll be plugging away in WoW in a couple months waiting and stockpiling for when Wrath of the Lich King comes out (with a hard release date of 13.11.08).

Oh and in the middle of all this, I am assembling my Rangers of Arnor force and randomly painting some Guardsmen and Orks. Small smattering of Marines to keep things interestng :)

Lastly I played...4 (counting not so good at 7.30am) games last week and went 3-0-1. I beat up two Blood Angels players (with very different lists) and crushed an Ork player. I tied against a Salamander player in a Secure and Control game @1000 pts. Basically I couldn't get to his objective and he wouldn't try to come to mine. So a draw is in the books for that (slightly dull) game.

Ok so not in the army like i thought. I decided to go back to school (yay/boo).

On the wargaming front though, I am working on a Rangers of Arnor Army for LOTR and updating my Marines to fit in with the new marine codex coming out in October (Yay painting lots of Marines, bleh)

And while i love my guard I can't get interest to paint them now, but I will try and do 5 guys here and there, just to prove I somewhat care :)

I have also been playing more game recently and have two lined up this weekend. Woot :)

While this is a GW picture, this will be the scheme I am going with for my Rangers army.

I always wanted to do a winter army scheme, and this will give me practice for when i get the courage up to do my Kislevite army someday :)

Ok so I'm indecisive...I'm ok with that, but now I don't have a choice...my army to work on for now is...NONE.

I got a new job. Well sort of an old job, but new too. I rejoined the Army, and plan to see things through totally this time. So that leaves all things Warhammer in the lurch so to speak, for the foreseeable future at least.

Until i leave i will be haphazardly painting some space marines in anticipation of their new rules/models come the fall.

Ok, so I've been slacking...playing to much WoW and not running/working out enough, nor am I doing any Warhammer stuff.

But, i did lay out my Ork stuff, and set to building the last few guys i need to make my army. All i need is the 20 Lootas now.

Was thinking of making a fast response Ork army, with nothing but Bikes and jetbikes in it, maybe a Looted wagon with ordnance or two...

And it would give me a chance to try and model up a Wazzdakka Gutzmek Model.

I have a good bit of the parts from the Wartrukk left, and bitz from Warbikes, Wartraks, and Warbuggies availabel to work with. If only i knew what to make the Kannon out of?

Woohoo! I got the tray finished and it looked hella cool in my opinion. Definately a nicer look than my normal armies have.

Army Tray Progress

Ok i know pictures were promised several times, but i just haven't got to my computer in a couple days (i'm at work on this one...)

The tray is looking very nice if i do say so myself (and i do!!), it is mostly done, save for some highlighting and weathering in the Thunderhawk and sandbags. I also need to glue the moulding around the base of the thing to give it its regal look, lol.

Ok so no update this weekend, as i forgot I have no computer, nor internet at my grandmother's to do said update on my army display tray, but work did happen...

I cut out the base and the foamcore for the army tray. Also i glued the two together (ooooh, ahhhh). Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to start affixing stuff to the base itself. Then painting will *hopefully* start on Saturday/Sunday, and be done on monday/tuesday, as i still need to paint a few marines for the army too.

My Librairian (based on Mephiston) has his inner robes painted, and damn if the foundation paints don't work amazing for layered painting...stupid high pigment actually working right...

Wow second post in two days, i'm on a roll. :)

Ok so I went to Home Depot yesterday on the way home and picked up a sheet of MDF and some hardwood borders. When i get back to Smiths Falls this weekend I will start the Display Tray, and the crashed Thunderhawk will get started.

No other projects on the go as the Marines are first and foremost.

After the GT i will work on my Mordheim gang for the Mordheim league I'm starting on Deepspace.

Aha, another blog post!

Ok so it's been almost a year, and maybe i can actually stick to this for once.

I do need a reason to finish projects that i am working on, so maybe some detailing of them here will help...

So what am i working on now?

My GT army! That is to say my plain old marines :) But they will have a shiny new army tray, complete with crashed thunderhawk (ooohh, ahhhhh)

No i will not be ruining my $900 model to make a display tray, but i have some creative ideas :)

A trip to Home Depot on the way home today will get me the sheet of Russian plywood i need for the base of the tray. Pics this weekend!

Ok so the Sens lost the final with the Ducks in 5 games, but all is not lsot, they had a great season and i'm excited to see what happens over the next few weeks, as far as team composition goes.

Now tournaments are here, and they're also not. GW in all it's wisdom cancelled the Conflict circuit, so no more tournies, aww well, guess GW didn't make enough money off them anymore, nevermind the fact that gamers loved them and hevaily supported them in a lot of areas around canada.

Well GW St. Laurent is still doing the Bunker tourneys, so not all is lost.

On that note i have a 1000 point fantasy tournament next saturday (yay!!!) and i plan to bring my loverly little gobbos. But i got about 5 models to paint. Normally not bad being a gobbo army...but those 5 models are 2 chariots, 2 pump wagons and a bolt thrower.

So i got my work set out for the next week. And i want to dress up an army tray, make some neat little things for the army, we'll see if it all gets done.

So with that i go to do more assembling into the wee hours of the night, might post a pic of a chariot if i get time tonight.

Ok, so quick recap of last week and a bit. Sens lost in 5 games to the Ducks (booo!!), I am again single :) and there be tournaments in the future, and also not...

Ok so next weekend i have a 1000 pt. fantasy tournament to go to, and i want to being my Gobbos!!

Thing is i need to paint a lot...2 chariots, 2 snotling pump wagons and a bolt thrower, maybe a character too....

So i am building the chariots, pump wagons and bolt thrower tonight, maybe priming something too, but if not it'll all get primed tomorrow. Painting will be sporadic over the week, but i hope to have most of it done, so my paintfest friday won't be as bad.

Ok so the Sens did lose game 1 against Anaheim, but we did have a 9 day lay-off, not that i'm making excuses...

Other problems presented themselves too. We had way too many give-aways and also, hoping its a one game thing, Alfredsson didn't look up to his standard set in the past three rounds. I'm sure Murray will chew them out over the next day or so.

Likely we'll see the Senators of rounds 1-3 show up next game for the full 60 minutes.

And all that aside I really don't want to go to game 3 down 2 games to none, it'll put a real damper on the day.

Now i'm really not sure what this blog is for yet, i'll just write about random things until i get a feel for what i want to do with this.

So yeah, our Senators are on their way to the cup finals!!!! WOOHOO, and i even have a ticket game 3, courtesy of my awesome Dad (thanks for renewing your season tix).

I went to game 5 of the Pittsburgh series (where Ottawa eliminated them) and the crowd was ridiculous then, so i really can't wait to see what it'll be like in game 3 of the freaking cup finals!

And we'll prolly be up like 2 games to none by then :)

My sens jersey is in, looking pretty sweet rocking out with Volchenkov's name and numbers.

Also, got a 40k tourney on saturday, still haven't decided on guard or marines, if i go guard i gotta paint a bit, as i'd like quite a few more plasma/melta and lascannons in the army for dealing with damn dirty marines and their stupid terminators.

Hmmmm.....maybe a demolisher too...

Ideas, ideas, i'm gonna get no sleep today...and gotta take the girlfriend to see Pirates:3 tonight, so that'll cut out more time...damn women...wait, no it'll be worth it i'm sure.

BTW new to me (i live under a rock) penny-arcade.com is fan-freaking-tastic if i do say so myself.

And yeah...that's about it...i'm going back to school in July, bleh...but i guess kinda-sorta cool too.

Ok, so I've tried numerous times to actually keep up with a semi-regular blog, i think this one will actually survive. Why you ask is this any different?

It really isn't, but i do have a bunch of stuff to talk about, and my friends and girlfriend might kill me soon if i don't shut up every now and then.
